Family favourites to box office hits: Enesco announces new figurines in the Disney Traditions range by Jim Shore
From firm family favourites to recent box office hits, the latest additions into Enesco’s Disney Traditions range by Jim Shore are set to be sure-fire favourites with collectors and gifters alike.
New to Disney Traditions is Someday You Will Be A Real Boy, featuring favourite characters from the cartoon classic, Pinocchio. Measuring 15.0cm tall and retailing with an SRP of £49.95, the figurine depicts the wooden puppet without any strings — Pinocchio — with his father Geppetto; his conscience’s guide, Jiminy Cricket; along with pet cat, Figaro; and goldfish, Cleo.
Set against a storybook back-drop in the folk style Shore has become renowned for, Geppetto can been seen relaying a story to Pinocchio with the other characters watching on, enthralled by the unfolding tale. Featuring brightly coloured flowers in shades of red and blue in the Italian wood-carving style expected of a carpenter of the era, the reverse of the ornament looks like a book in blue binding, with the title of the story inscribed in gold on the backside of the front cover.
Additions into the Disney Traditions collection also feature some new — but equally loved — characters from recent box office hits. Find Your Own Way depicts the latest Disney Princess, Moana. Reminiscent of the film wherein the headstrong teenager is chosen by the ocean to journey across the sea to save her people and all of humankind, this figurine shows Moana standing strong at 19.0cm tall.
Hand-carved and painted, she is shown wearing the traditional dress of an islander from the Pacific Ocean. With her side-kick — Pua the pet pig at her feet — Moana stands on a base depicting the waves of the sea while holding a wooden oar in her hand, ready to answer her calling and embrace the journey in finding her own way. Retailing with an SRP of £39.95, Moana is sure to be a welcome addition to any Disney fan’s collection.
What better period to build a collection of Disney figurines that at Christmastime? Making for the perfect present over the festive season or as a piece of seasonal home décor, Enesco is delighted to present Light Up The Holidays as another new item into the Disney Traditions range.
Marking Walt Disney’s first feature length animated film making its debut in the US eighty years ago this December, Light Up The Holidays shows the much loved character from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs — Dopey — wrestling with his Christmas tree lights.
This fun and thoroughly festive figurine measures in at 14.0cm with an SRP of £35.00, making it the perfect gift for any Disney fan.
Someday You Will Be A Real Boy, Find Your Own Way, and Light Up The Holidays are all available to purchase from Enesco as part of the Disney Traditions range by Jim Shore. Celebrating his fifteenth anniversary of working with Enesco this year. Each piece reveals Shore’s artistry and skill, not only in capturing the essence and magical qualities of each Disney character, but also enhancing them in his own unique, American folk art-inspired way.
