Enesco celebrates 120th anniversary of Peter Rabbit with the launch of new storybook figurine in Beatrix Potter by Jim Shore collection
To celebrate the 120th anniversary of the launch of Beatrix Potter’s literary classic, The Tales of Peter Rabbit, Enesco is delighted to announce for new storybook figurine into its hugely popular Beatrix Potter by Jim Shore collection.
Loved by children and grown-ups alike across the generations, the new piece in this exciting collection paw-fectly capture the characteristics of everyone’s favourite bob-tailed bunny, Peter Rabbit, along with his furry friends.
Named “Mr. McGregor's Decoy" (Peter, Benjamin, Scarecrow Storybook Figurine) the figurine depicts the scene from Beatrix Potter’s best-loved tales, whereby mischievous Peter Rabbit™, and his cousin Benjamin Bunny™ sneak into Mr. MacGregor’s garden to retrieve his iconic blue jacket after he left it there having been chased away (despite Mrs. Rabbit’s earlier warnings), only to find a scarecrow is wearing the garment instead. Framed within the pages of a storybook to capture the essence of the scene, this brand-new and exclusive figurine reveals Shore’s artistry and skills, standing at 14cm tall and retailing with an SRP of £89.95.
Other new figurines in the Beatrix Potter by Jim Shore collection include "A Mother's Love" (Mrs Rabbit™ in Rocking Chair Figurine), "A Sweet Treat" (Peter Rabbit™ with Strawberries Figurine), and "Let's Stay in Touch" (Peter Rabbit™ Posting Letters Figurine). Inspired by the original illustrations of Beatrix Potter’s works, the figurines are brought to life using Shore’s synonymous style of intricate quilting patterns and motifs derived from American Folk Art, bringing to life these characters from the pages of stories in a way many fans of the brand will have never seen before.
With each piece cast in stone, lovingly hand-painted by skilled artisans, and presented in a branded gift box to create a high-quality and highly collectible product, these pieces are set to be a must-have for young and old alike who enjoy The Tale of Peter Rabbit™ and other stories from Beatrix Potter that have stood the test of time, as we mark the 120th anniversary of the launch of the very first book in 2022.
