Enesco launches new additions to the Willow Tree® Signature Collection that celebrate the wonder of everyday things

Contemporary gift retailer, Enesco, is proud to present new additions to the Willow Tree® Signature Collection from Artist Susan Lordi. Lordi’s two newest figures, Wishing and Everyday Blessings, reflect the beauty and wonder of everyday things.

Everyday Blessings features a woman with arms outstretched in a universally welcoming gesture. Her entire form is carved with plants, flowers, birds, butterflies, the cycle of seasons—all the earthly blessings of nature that enrich our daily lives. Throughout the carvings are highlights of gold, extending over her dress and up into her hair so that her entire form is embellished. 

For artist Susan Lordi, the inspiration for the collection was to show the beauty in everyday things—the wonders of nature, our wishes and dreams, loving relationships—but shown with gold to elevate their importance in our world and in our lives. The use of gold connotes preciousness and enduring value, and the gold highlights woven throughout the carvings are symbolic of light and energy, hope and inner strength.

Like all Willow Tree sculptures, Susan Lordi hand carves the original figure from her studio in Kansas City, Missouri.  Pieces are then cast from her original carvings, and individually painted by hand. The simplicity of form and absence of facial features signify Willow Tree. Expression is revealed through gesture only… a tilt of the head, placement of the hands, a turn of the body. This emphasis on form and gesture opens the interpretation of each piece to the giver and the receiver.
