Exciting new partnership as employees from Carlisle-based business choose Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw as its charity of the year

Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice, is proud to announce an exciting new charity of the year partnership with Enesco, a contemporary gift-giving company with its UK headquarters based in Carlisle.

Throughout the year, employees from Enesco are aiming to raise hundreds of pounds to support the local charity, such as holding raffles and bake sales in-house, as well as taking part in sporting events like The Colour Run. In addition to members of the team from Enesco participating in events organised by the Hospice, employees will also have the opportunity to volunteer at Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw during normal working hours, as part of Enesco’s corporate social responsibility programme.

Commenting on the new partnership, Claire Binnie, Human Resources Director at Enesco, said: “We’re really pleased to be able to support such a worthy cause in our local area that is close to many of our hearts. This year we have introduced a new initiative where we’ve asked our staff to help us choose our charity of the year, whereby we spend the next 365 days working to raise as much money as we can, as well as volunteering our time.

“As such, all staff were asked to nominate a local charity. The three charities with the most nominations then went to a vote, with the majority of staff choosing to support Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw.

“While at Enesco we specialise in gift giving for a whole host of occasions, the team at the Hospice give the greatest gift of all. They’re there to support patients, families and carers of people with life-limiting illnesses during some of life’s darkest times, bringing comfort, hope and a little bit of happiness to people when they need it most. We’re delighted to play our part in helping to make this happen too and look forward to working with Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw over the next year.”

All of the money raised during the Charity of the Year partnership will help Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw’s nurses provide the highest standards of care, support and activities to local adults and children with life limiting illnesses. This care and support is extended to all the patient’s families, friends and carers.
