American artist, Jim Shore, loved folk art from childhood learning quilting from his grandmother. He brings his unique knowledge of folk-art motifs and techniques such as the stylised florals, scrollwork and geometric designs typical of rosemaling - traditional Norwegian decorative wood painting - to his designs.
